Meet the Team

  • Stephanie Fung, DDS

Dr. Stephanie Fung graduated with honours from the Doctor of Dental Surgery program at the University of Toronto in 2005.

She started Leslieville Dentistry from scratch in March of 2011.   Her practice philosophy is, above all, to do right by as many as possible.  Other than performing clinical dentistry, she also oversees all administrative aspects of running the practice, and is an owner-operator in the truest sense.  As a solo female practitioner, she believes in championing the needs of patients and staff alike, tailoring to the diverse cultural cross section of Leslieville with equity as a primary tenet.

Dr. Fung enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, making her a dentist for patients of all ages, but she especially enjoys restoring smiles with cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Fung likes to spend her free time trying out new recipes, playing golf, dreaming of her next travel destination, taking long walks on the beach with her husband, and playing aunt to her favourite nephew.

  • Reception

The receptionists are the first faces you see when you step into the office, the voices on the phone, and the ones who respond to your emails.  We pride ourselves on excellent customer service when it comes to accommodating patient preferences and needs whilst ensuring our dental care providers maximize their work days.

Emily has been with Leslieville Dentistry for ten years.  She excels in every aspect of her work and is the anchor of our small but mighty reception team.

Michelle started her journey with Leslieville Dentistry as a high school co-op student in 2022.  Due to her impressive work ethic and openness to learn, she accepted an offer to continue as a part time staff member after her co-op term ended.  As she now moves on to her university studies, we hope she will come see us on her visits home. We look forward to welcoming our newest co-op student!

  • Hygienists

The hygienists are the educators of the office.  They aim to espouse the benefits of good oral hygiene while providing thorough and gentle maintenance care.  They spend the most time with our patients, and are thus the pillars of the practice.

Sumaiya and Rahel have taken on important roles at Leslieville Dentistry while our hygienist Heather is on maternity leave.  Rest assured, they are both blossoming under the guidance of Dr Fung, honing their hard and soft skills and embodying the culture of excellence for which we have come to be known.

  • Assistants

Dental assistants are the guardians of the office.  They keep the machine well-oiled and running, literally and figuratively.  They help maintain upkeep of the practice while providing Dr Fung with the clinical support she needs.

Purnima and Flor (as well as unpictured Sarah) operate as a team of three, rotating between the numerous tasks required to uphold high standards of infection control.  They also work most directly with Dr Fung, assuming the delicate role of chairside assistance that requires a balance of efficiency and finesse.

  • Maternity Leave

Heather and Khue are currently relishing in their other roles as mothers to their baby daughters. We miss them and look forward to welcoming them back in the new year.
