Porcelain Crowns and Veneers
Porcelain restorations require the partnership of the dentist and the dental laboratory to fabricate crowns, veneers and bridges that are bonded or cemented onto prepared tooth surfaces, usually over two appointments. It combines the skill of the dentist and the artistry of the laboratory to create beautiful, long lasting restorations that mimic the most ideal tooth aesthetic.
Veneers #1--Before. This patient had worn teeth, black triangles, and mismatched shade of his natural teeth compared to the crowns adjacent to them.
Veneers #1--After. Porcelain veneers were used to harmonize the contours and shade of the teeth, restore length and width, and block out the black triangles. His comment afterwards: "I wish I had done this a lot sooner!"
Crowns #2--Before. This patient had a patchwork of fillings and worn edges that she wanted to see improved. The debate is always whether to crown four or six teeth. In this case, we agreed to do four for now.
Crowns #2--After. She received four porcelain crowns and now is able to smile confidently. She has received many compliments about how natural they look!
Crowns #3--Before. This is one of my FAVOURITE cases of all time, as it combines Invisalign, Porcelain Crowns and Cosmetic Bonding to restore this patient's smile. This patient only had tooth-to-tooth contact on three of his front teeth for fifty plus years because his front teeth were tilted inward and prevented contact on his back teeth. The severe wear was evident on those three pairs of upper and lower front teeth. It did not take much convincing on my part that his bite could be improved drastically to allow use of all of his teeth for the rest of his life. This photo shows the results at the end of his Invisalign treatment. See the corresponding BONDING post to see the before and after photos on his lower teeth!

Crowns #3--After. Normally we would do four crowns for symmetry, but his left lateral incisor was pristine and we agreed that we could achieve high esthetics just with three crowns. In his wife's words, "You are his new BFF!" See the corresponding BONDING post to see the before and after photos on his lower teeth!
